      The complete Laing manuscript may be viewed and downloaded through the Tasmanian Archives, although it involves clicking through a multitude of links.

      The trail starts at Alexander Laing on this site. It should end at

      “North Inch of Perth” is on page 31 as numbered in the manuscript, which is page 33 of the PDF. It is the second tune from the top of the page. This is clearly the same tune as the one you ask about. Possibly the only variation is in bar 1, beat 2. The Traditional Tune Archive lists this piece as North Inch with no mention of Niel Gow. Since Alexander Laing wrote the manuscript decades after he was transported, his attribution of “by N. Gow” is most likely an error on his part.
